Eco Friendly Sheep Wool
Warm, natural, breathable insulation in a sustainable way.
Sheep wool insulation is made of fibres that are packed together to form millions of tiny air pockets which trap air, making it harder for heat to transfer, thereby helping insulate our pods.
“sheep wool insulation is naturally eco friendly and in harmony with our world.”
Being made from a naturally produced fibre sheep wool insulation is eco friendly and in harmony with our world. Sheep Wool Insulation requires less than 15% of the energy required to produce than glass fibre insulation.
Wool is an eco friendly, sustainable and renewable resource, that does not deplete the ozone layer and at the end of it's useful life can be remanufactured or biodegraded.
Wool's unique advantage over plastic foam insulation is its breathability, being able to absorb and release moisture from the surrounding air, without compromising it's thermal efficiency.
When wool fibres absorbs moisture, they generate tiny amounts of heat. This warmth acts to prevent condensation in construction cavities by maintaining the temperature above the dew-point in damp conditions.
“wool insulation will keep a building cooler during the day and warmer during the night.”
This valuable property creates a natural buffering effect, stabilising heat changes that occur with relative humidity in all buildings so was the right choice for our pods.
Sheep wool insulation will keep a building cooler during the day and warmer during the night. It will also aid a timber framed building to last decades if not centuries as is the case with buildings we still can see in todays world which were designed to breath.
